Behaviour

  • The Students residing in any of our residences must treat the Housekeeping staff with due courtesy.
  • Students residing in any of our residences must not create nuisance/ disturbance inside the residence. They shall maintain a peaceful & pleasant environment for fellow students.
  • Students residing in any of our residences should immediately inform the Management team of any incidents/ emergencies/ health problems or if any other serious matters arise.
  • Student residing in any of our residences must inform the Management team if suffering from any contagious diseases.
  • Oliasi student accommodation Malta do not allow students to organise any form of parties in any area of their residences.
  • Students residing in any of our residences should maintain discipline, ensure pleasant and peaceful environment and follow the in-house rules which will be explained on arrival. Failure to do so may result in being expelled from the accommodation.

  • Your accommodation will be cleaned on a weekly basis, however all students are requested to maintain the residence tidy and hygienically clean
  • Students are encouraged to keep their rooms clean and tidy.
  • To avoid cockroaches and rodents’ students are not allowed to bring any takeaway food and drinks inside their room.

  • Don’t throw trash into the toilet bowl, except toilet paper.
  • Please ensure you flush the toilet after every use.
  • Be sure to dry and clean up the floor after using the bathroom to avoid slipping.
  • No pets are allowed in the accommodation.
  • Each resident gets a key to the main door and room door. Students are advised to lock the room and other storage when leaving the room.
  • One should return the keys to the manager when leaving the place. If anyone vacates the residence after office hours or during the weekend, he should leave the key in the room.
  • Residents must not create nuisance/ disturbance inside the residence. Any students found disturbing other students’ comfort due to noise might face disciplinary action.
  • No students should use abusive language and follow noisy behaviour inside or outside the residence. Everyone should keep their noise level to a minimum to avoid disturbing other students. Any breach will lead to disciplinary action.
  • Celebrating birthdays or any other occasion that requires gathering is strictly prohibited in the room or common area. In case of a breach, articles get damaged, or cleaning is required, a charged will be incurred by the student/s.
  • Alcohol consumption inside the residence for legally entitled residents is allowed but with the condition that one should consume it at the permitted place and in moderation. Any disturbance to other residents or a breach of policy will lead to disciplinary action. Thus, it is advised to avoid the use of alcohol.
  • Residents must not indulge in illegal activities such as the consumption of drugs or unlawful substances. Anyone found to be using illegal substances will be called for a disciplinary action.
  • Burning flammable objects such as candles, mosquito coils, oil burners, etc., is not permissible inside the accommodation. Smoking is also prohibited in all areas of the accommodation.
  • Any form of discrimination, harassment, physical, verbal abuse is strictly prohibited in all our residences .
  • Students must take good care of the property and furniture. Sticking posters, damaging walls and furniture, and using any form of sticky tape on walls and furniture is not permitted in any part of the residence.
  • Residents must use electricity, water and equipment provided with all wisdom and should not waste and overuse it. Television and other equipment should be turned off when not in use. One should not disturb the heating equipment set. Coordinate with the management team for anything required.
  • To maintain good hygiene, all residents must use linen for all bedding accessories, such as pillow covers, mattress protectors, bed sheets, etc.,

Bathroom Rules

  • One should leave the bathroom clean after every shower.
  • Any leftover or used products should be disposed of in the dustbin. The bathroom must be left clean and dry.
  • One should keep the toilet clean all the time.
  • The washbasin should not be left in a mess. The user must leave it clean.
  • One must leave the basin and sink clean and dry after every use..
  • Turn off the lights when leaving the bathroom.
  • Nothing except toilet paper should be flushed in the toilet.
  • The bathroom should be left clean and dry to avoid slips.

Kitchen Rules

  • Dishes and all kitchenware should be kept clean after every use.
  • Garbage and trash should be disposed of properly in the respective garbage bins.
  • One must report to the management any accidents.

Rubbish and Recycling

  • White bag for Organic waste such as food.
  • Grey bag for Recycling waste.
  • Black bag for other household waste.
  • Deposit machine for plastic and glass bottles.

In Case of Damage

  • The resident must take care of everything in their accommodation. If damages occur, the Resident will be asked to cover any payment due for the repair or replacement of the damaged item.

Disciplinary Action

  • 1st offense: Verbal warning.
  • 2nd offense: Written warning.
  • 3rd offense: Termination of the contract, eviction from the house.

  • The refrigerator provided is for all students. One should try to store stuff in moderation.
  • Keep the refrigerator clean. DO NOT STORE food for a long time as fresh food will perish after a few days.
  • Use leak-proof containers to avoid spills.

  • DO NOT keep the refrigerator door open for more than the required time.
  • Remember, the house refrigerator is for all. So, be considerate!

WiFi Internet

Oliasi student residences in Malta come with internet facility. It is mainly for academic purposes, but students can also use it for personal work like video calls, sending emails, etc. One can use it for entertainment too, however, in moderation, as it is common for all residents and one person should not use all data.

The Fire Safety Rule

  • Cooking is strictly prohibited in bedrooms.
  • The gas hob should not be left unattended while in use.
  • While in the process of cooking, food should not be left unattended.
  • All appliances must be turned off after every use.

The residence has an air-conditioning system which can be controlled accordingly. Occupants are advised to close all doors and windows for effective warming.
